FREE Water Park Fun in Downtown Chandler
June 19 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dr. AJ Chandler Park, southwest of Chandler Boulevard and Arizona Avenue. Water slides, pools, carnival games and more.

SUMMER BREAK MOVIE MADNESS
at MADCAP THEATERS, 730 S. Mill Ave., Tempe
Bee Movie, Rugrats in Paris, Spiderwick Chronicles and other G and PG family favorites will be shown from June 2 to Aug. 6 Wed, Thurs, Fri 1 and 4 p.m. $7 for 10 weeks or $2 per film.

Arizona’s Celebration of Freedom
July 2 and July 3 from 6 to 10 p.m. Music, games, food and fireworks in Downtown Mesa. Admission and parking are FREE.

Gilbert’s 90th Birthday and July 4th Celebration
Gilbert Promotional Corporation hosts a July 4 celebration. Details are still being finalized for the July 4 fireworks display. Festivities will continue July 5 at 8 a.m. with an Independence Day festival and 90th Birthday Celebration for Gilbert at Rodeo Park, on the southeast corner of Ray and Val Vista roads.

Chandler’s 4th of July Celebration
Tumbleweed Park, 2250 S. McQueen Road. Activities include live music, kids’ activities, food, and fireworks. Gates open at 4 p.m. Fireworks begin about 9:30 p.m. Admission is FREE. 480.236.9123.

July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival
Experience waterfront fireworks at Tempe Town Lake at Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway. 4 to 11 p.m. Advance purchase tickets are available at City of Tempe Outlets for $5, at Fry’s for $6. Children 12 and younger are FREE. Tickets are $8 at the gate or $15 for two. 480.350.5189.

Rawhide’s Star Spangled Shoot Out
5:30 to 11 p.m. Celebrate western style at Rawhide, 5700 West North Loop Road, Chandler. Cowboys, gunfights, food, fun, music and fireworks. Admission: $10 per person (ages 6 & up), Kids 5 years old and under are FREE.
